Dr Omer studied at the Sheffield Dental School and attained a Masters (MMedSci) in Restorative Dentistry. He studied Islamic Studies, and attained his license in that area from the European Institute for Human Sciences (2003); and completed MA in Islamic Studies from the Markfield Institute for Higher Education in 2017. He was awarded the prestigious British Imams and Scholars Contributions and Achievements Awards (BISCA 2016) for outstanding contribution to Da’wah.
