The British Board of Scholars and Imams (BBSI) vehemently condemns the bombing of the al-Ahli Arabi Baptist hospital in Gaza, Palestine, which reportedly claimed the lives of countless innocent Palestinian men, women, and children. Taking the lives of innocents, especially in such an indiscriminate and horrifying manner, violates the sacred, God-given inviolability of all human beings. It is an egregious moral transgression that all humanity must unite against.
For the Palestinian people, thiscurrent assault is an extension of a long history of oppression and subjugation. The recent history of Palestine is marked by the suffering of an occupied people, deprived of their fundamental rights, freedoms, and dignity. Until the Israeli occupation of Palestine ceases, innocent people will continue to endure hardships, and true peace will remain elusive. Such peace can only be achieved when the world acknowledges the rights of the Palestinians and takes active measures to liberate them from the shackles of oppression and subjugation.
We must reiterate our condemnation and express our moral outrage at the ongoing assault on Gaza. We implore all individuals to continue supporting the innocent Palestinians through lawful and morally upright means, such as through prayers, acts of charity, and by raising awareness of their plight.
O Allah, we implore You to bestow peace and protection upon the suffering, those who have experienced great loss and pain. May Your mercy envelop them, bringing an end to the cycle of violence and oppression they endure, and may You guide humanity toward a just and enduring peace. Ameen
